Announcing the 2017 Convocation Speaker

Syracuse University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science is proud to announce that civil engineering alumnus Jared Green ’01 will serve as their 2017 Convocation speaker. Green is a senior associate/vice president at Langan Engineering, an international land development firm.

He will address graduates during the ceremony on Saturday, May 13 at Manley Field House, beginning at 8:30 AM.

After graduating from the College of Engineering and Computer Science, Green went on to attain his master’s in civil engineering with a geotechnical focus from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Campaign. In 2003, he began working at Langan in New York City where he has also become part owner.

Green serves on the Young Alumni Board for the College of Engineering and Computer Science. He is also a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

He was recently named one of ENR New York’s Top 20 Engineers Under 40 and is very active within his community, serving as the associate pastor of the First Bilingual Seventh-day Adventist church.

Green resides in Flemington, New Jersey with his wife and three children.
