It is our pleasure to announce the following appointments in Syracuse University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science.
Sarah Mack G’10 has been promoted to director of student success advising. In this role, she will lead the college’s student success advising team and the programs that support the development, retention, and graduation of our undergraduate students. Mack and her team will work with the college’s career services advisors and faculty advisors to deliver our enhanced student advising model. She will also represent the college in relevant university-wide committees and oversee our Peer Leaders program.
Mack has been with Syracuse University for nearly ten years, serving as a graduate assistant, residence hall director, educational consultant, and most recently, as program coordinator for the college’s student success programs. She holds a master’s degree in student affairs counseling from SU and bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Potsdam.
Mary Kay Montville ’86 has been named the college’s interim director of career services. As interim director, Montville will advance relations with industry to grow our internship and full-time placement rates. She will also oversee career programs that support the college’s students and lead our team of career advisors. Montville will ensure that the college remains well-informed of trends in engineering and computing employment, internship, hiring, and placement, and will formulate and implement strategies that benefit our students.
Montville has over 20 years of experience in human resources and talent management. She has been serving as senior career advisor during the past year. Before that, Montville spent 12 years with C&S Companies, an architectural, engineering, project management, design, and construction firm with offices in nine states. An alumna of Syracuse, she holds a bachelor’s degree in human development.
