What is your current research about?
Our objective is to guide UAVs through an unknown space toward a destination while avoiding mid-air collisions. To do so, we propose a “Modified Artificial Potential Field technique” to automatically steer UAVs away from static or dynamic obstacles in its path, then continue to its destination.
Our technique can be used in unmanned aerial vehicles as well as autopilot vehicles and robots. I plan to develop an algorithm which can be applied to driverless cars.
What do you like most about your program?
I like the academic environment that Syracuse University provides. The saying goes, “interest is the best teacher,” and my advisor gives me the academic freedom to pursue the topics that interest me most.
