Permission letter requests by International students-
You do not need an invitation letter from your department to invite your family for commencement. You can do the following if you feel you still need some type of reference:
1) Write your own invitation letter stating why your parents need a visa.
2) In Myslice go to Student Services – Enrollment – View Enrollment Verification (this will give you your enrollments dates and estimated graduation date – print the page).
3) Print a copy of your transcript.
4) Copy off the commencement information from Special Events or Syracuse University Commencement (this information can be found in the SU web pages).
Attach all of this together and give to your parents so they will have it when applying for their visa
If you have any questions please email Sue Karlik or call 315-443-3604
